CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC 1-3 THE WELLS

The Wells returned to the top of the SCEFL premier league with a convincing win away at Crowborough.

The Crows took the lead on 5mins through Kieron Scantlebury after a long ball over the top of The Wells defence was finished with a blistering strike.

The Wells enjoyed the majority of possession for the remainder of the half without threatening the home sides goal until 40mins. Danny Powell’s shot made the Crows stopper pull off a good save. Jordan Wells struck the bar with a venomous strike with the resulting rebound.

The Wells pulled level just before the half time break when Jake Beecroft’s 35 yard free kick eluded everyone in the Crows area and drew the sides level.

Chris Lawal put The Wells into a deserved lead 4 mins into the second half after a Jake Beecroft corner.

Crow keeper Billy Johnson gifted The Wells a third when he missed a routine back pass for Danny Powell to run on to and tap home.

The Wells return to the top spot on 12pts after 4 wins from 4 games.

Next up The Wells return to West Sussex on Sunday to face Littlehampton Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase.
Kick Off 3pm.
