FISHER 0-3 THE WELLS

The Wells began 2020 with an excellent 0-3 win away at Fisher.

Clark Woodcock made it 2 goals in 2 games for The Wells when he opened the scoring on 8mins with a goal of the season contender rifled in from 30 yards.

Josh Froggatt promptly missed the opportunity to add to The Wells lead from the penalty spot a minute later when his tame effort was comfortably saved by Fisher Keeper Tommy Taylor.

Simon Overland denied The Fish an equaliser when his finger tipped save denied Jacob Katonia just before half time.

Jason Thompson doubled The Wells lead when he headed home Wells substitute and debutant Matt Day’s cross on 68mins.

Jason Thompson added a third for The Wells on 78mins when his half volley left former Wells keeper Tommy Taylor no chance in The Fish goal.

Louis Clarke missed a golden opportunity to grab a consolation goal for Fisher but hit the post having gone round Simon Overland in injury time.

The win sees The Wells remain in 6th and move to 34pts from 17 games.
